Patricia Cariño Valdez (History of Art '10)

Patricia Cariño Valdez is an arts professional, curator, and consultant who fosters meaningful connections between collectors, artists, and institutions. She is the Founder of PCV Art Consulting, where she helps first-time collectors and professionals build sophisticated art collections, manage acquisitions, and oversee collection stewardship. She also advises and manages artist studios, supporting large-scale projects and ambitious creative endeavors. Currently, Valdez leads and manages the collections and exhibitions for the Olivia Collection and Foundation in Los Angeles and Mexico City. Her curatorial and public programs have been presented at the Berkeley Art Center, Oakland Museum of California, San Jose Institute of Contemporary Art, Exploratorium, Various Small Fires, Shulamit Nazarian, and Asia Society Houston. Valdez has participated in panels at Stanford University, UC Berkeley, the Asian Art Museum, and the San Francisco Arts Commission. From 2017 to 2020, she served as one of seven members of Oakland’s Public Art Advisory Committee, which was appointed by the Mayor and approved by the City Council. She holds a BA in History of Art from UC Berkeley and an MA in Curatorial Practice from California College of the Arts.
