Mellony Palma (she/her) is a 3rd year student at UC Berkeley studying Sociology with a concentration in Research Methods. Her current research emphasizes the current standing in which the child welfare system in California provides comprehensive sexual education to foster youth. In doing so, her study presents firsthand accounts of how misinformation coupled with unmet needs can translate into increased susceptibility of considerations/participation in sex work. Upon completing her undergraduate studies, Mellony plans to get her Ph.D in Sociology and to mentor and encourage other non-traditional students towards achieving their own dreams.
