Mikumo Student Support Fund for Research in Japan

The Division of Arts and Humanities makes available 2 grants of up to $5,000 for graduate students who are traveling to Japan in Summer or Fall each year for a research stay, internship, or academic program (e.g. workshop, summer school). Applications are open to graduate students from any department in the Division of Arts & Humanities who are studying or researching topics related to Japan. Funds can be applied to program costs (e.g. fees for access to archives, workshops fees, summer school tuition), housing costs, transportation (e.g. flights or train tickets), and incidentals/meals. Summer Grants for Arts & Humanities Graduate Students

The Center for Interdisciplinary Critical Inquiry offers graduate students summer research stipends of up to $3,000 for interdisciplinary, interdivisional and/or collaborative projects on urgent contemporary issues such as authoritarianism, climate change, religion and democracy, borders and migration, race, gender and sexuality. Students working within or across the fields of critical theory, environmental arts and humanities, religious studies and digital humanities are especially encouraged to apply.
